The Old Armoury Campsite is a well laid out Camping and Caravanning ClubCertificated Site that offers spacious and well-laid-out caravan pitches that give you room to breathe, and take in the glorious spectacle of the Pennines and surrounding countryside. For those that prefer being under canvas we have plenty of space for you too.

The Old Armoury is conveniently situated in the stunningly beautiful UNESCO Global Geopark landscape of Teesdale in the North Pennines, close to the county borders of Durham, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, making the site an ideal base from which to explore. Bowes and the surrounding countryside are also part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). 

A short walk away is the historic village of Bowes. A short drive away, in Barnard Castle, you will find supermarkets, independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants to replenish supplies and relax after seeing the sights. Barnard Castle is home to a 12^th century castle that gives the town its name. It also has the famed Bowes Museum, a stones throw from the town centre, with its 18th Century swan automaton and many other superb exhibits.
